Sometimes, cool business ideas come from unexpected places like NYC subway. Brooklyn-based company Underground Signs has a tie up with New York City’s Metropolitan Transit Authority to basically sells replicas of NYC subway station signs for home and office wall. According to the owners, they decided replicating subway signs as a way to bring city lives to into homes.
“The white Helvetica on the black – it’s a cold, straight, formal expression that is supposed to be clear and understandable by everyone,” said co-founder Mr. MacDermid. “When people take that and make it their own, it gives me a good feeling.”
